B+L Industrial Measurements is an independent company, specializing in the development, manufacturing, and sales of electronic instruments for industrial weighing systems. It was founded in 1968 as “Industrie Automation Heidelberg”, at a time that large scale companies were still focusing on mechanical technology. Since the start, the company has concentrated on introducing and further developing modern micro-electronics for industrial weighing systems.
As a part of the Bran+Luebbe company from 1983 onwards, the Heidelberg branch developed into a world leader, with names such as Datapond and Minipond becoming household names and finding thousands of applications around the world. The company become a part of the Variohm Group, a successful UK sensor marketeer in 2003, with Leo Baartmans, a Dutch weighing professional, as its managing director. He bought the company in December 2010, and it is now an entirely independent enterprise again.
The small team at B+L strives to strengthen the technological leader position and supply the best possible instruments with super service; thus working to secure the company’s next 50 years of leadership.
